 The sociocultural community of Mecca and
Medina
1. Sosial cultural
Arabs in pre-Islamic times had several classes of people,
distinguished one from the other, greatly deified the lord and
insulted the slaves. This condition occurred in Arabia before Islam
entered the community known as the "ignorance", "ignorance" or
"barbarity
2. Economi
The economic conditions in Arabia follow the social conditions, in
the pre-Islamic Arab economy in a misleading condition, they
justify any means to get money
3.politic
pre-Islamic government system :
a. they have no place of justice (law)
b. they don't have security guards
4.relegions
they are watsani (idols)
 Education in Mecca and Medina
communities :

a) maktab
maktab functions as an education that focuses on reading and
teaching the Koran and religion
b) mosque
the process that made the mosque a place of worship and a center of
learning because of the first beginning of studying religious knowledge,
and getting to know the basic foundations of Islam
c) madrasah

madrasa is a place of learning for Muslims, madrasa is a transformation of

Islamic educational institutions from the mosque, thus the existence of madrasas
in the early era had a long history during the course of Islamic civilization
the difference between the Islamic
education of Mecca and Medina

A. period of the city of Mecca

the principal of learning Islamic education in Mecca is tauhid
education, instilling the value of monotheism, so that it is
reflected in actions and behavior in daily life
B. priod of the madina
the principle of fostering education in the city of madina, can
be said to be social and political education based on Islamic
teachings
