Area

Yukon Territory is situated in the northwest of


most Canada, and it is also one of the least
populated areas in Canada. Yukon Territory
covers an area of 482,443 km².
Average Weather

Yukon during summer is comfortable, and winters can be frigid and snowy. It is mostly cloudy at has a fair

amount of rainfall throughout the year.

Temperature

 The warm season lasts for 3.6 months, from May 17 to September 6, and the warmest months are July.

 The Wintertime period is for 3.5 months, from November 11 to February 26, and the coldest month is January.

Precipitation

 The rainy season lasts 5.2 months, from May 29 to November 5, and the average rainfall is 838 mm or 33.00 inches per

year.

 Snow is most common for 5.5 months, from October 24 to April 8, and the average snowfall is about 41. 6 inches or 106

cm per year.
Time Zone Concerning UTC

On November 1, 2020, Yukoners will not change


their clocks together with most of Canada but
will stay on UTC -7 as the new standard time all
year round.
The permanent time zone change added to the
law on September 24, 2020.

border.

The only American state with which Yukon


Territory shares its border is Alaska's U.S.
state to the West. Which above the Arctic
Circle to the Beaufort Sea, it stretches outs
towards the northwards.
Capital

Whitehorse, city, and capital (since 1952) of Yukon, Canada


Located on the Yukon River just below Miles Canyon and
the former Whitehorse Rapids.
It is the Yukon headquarters of the Royal Canadian Mounted
Police.
It is an important transportation centre on the Alaska
Highway, linked by air to major North American cities.
It has long been an outfitting base for anglers, big-game
hunters, and trappers.
Whitehorse, perhaps so named because the whitecaps
of the rapids on the Whitehorse River resembled the
manes of white horses

Inland waterways

Yukon River plays a vital inland waterway of the Yukon


Territory, which mostly connects between Whitehorse and
Dawson city with a way further to Alaska and over the
