GENEX Probe & Assistant Installation
 Download and install GENEX Probe V300R016C00SPC100 and GENEX Assistant

V300R016C00SPC100 from Support website.
 Start the Probe/Assistant, record down the ESN code to apply for the license.

Probe – Import Engineering Parameter
 Import the Engineering Parameter into Probe. Latest version HW should provide.
 Go to [Configuration]  [Engineering Parameter Management…] .

 Choose the “LTE” system. Then select the Engineering Parameter file (in excel format), match the “Excel
Parameter” with the “Probe Parameter”, as shown in below.

Probe – Connect Devices
 Connect UE E3276s and GPS to the laptop.
 Start the HiSi UE Agent. It will take approximately 2 minutes for the UE to auto connect to HiSi UE
Agent.
 Go to [Configuration]  [Device Management]  [Device Configure] .
 Go to [Add Device] to add MS E5375 and GPS accordingly.

Add MS: Select the type as “MS” and model as “HUAWEI E3276s”, do not need to change for the
Agent IP.
Add GPS: Select the type as “GPS”, model as “NMEA”, and COM port.
Click [Connect] and make sure that both GPS and MS state show is “Connected”.

Probe – Test Plan Control
 Go to [Configuration]  [Test Plan Control] .
 Option1: Click [Import] to import the saved test plan.

 Option2: Manually configure the test plan, and [save] it for the future usage.

Probe – Record LogFile
! Always remember to start the recording before start to do any testing.

 Go to [Test]  [Start Record] .
Follow the standard LogFile naming

 Remember to stop the recording after complete each test activities .

Probe – FAQ
 Why the UE location is not show in the map?

Answer: Make sure GPS state is “Connect”, and there is value show under “Longitude” and
“Latitude” columns. Else, try to disconnect GPS  un-plug  delete GPS  plug-in  add new
GPS  connect again.
 Why there is no serving cell line display in the map?

Answer: Select the options “MS1 Serving Cell Line” and “MS1 Neighboring Cell Line”. Check the
EARFCN of the Engineering Parameter file imported is set correctly.

 Run “cmd” from Windows Start Menu.
 Type the command to create empty file: fsutil file createnew <filename> <length>

SMS/MMS MO/MT
Requirement:
• Newly integrated site must have no Alarm and no parameter and neighbor deficiencies.
• Test phone & SIM
Procedure:
• Before FT commence, please ensure that the newly integrated site has no Alarm, done parameter check and
with defined neighbors.
• If in cases, that there are alarms and deficiencies, endorsed to implementation for rectification.
• First step of doing the Functionality Test are Mobile Originating (MO) & Mobile Terminating (MT) SMS/MMS
must be done for each sectors.
• For SMS, perform 5 attempts in each sector and log the actual result. The target is 100% successful SMS.
%Success = SMS Received / SMS Attempt
• For MMS, perform 3 attempts in each sector and log the actual result. The target is 100% successful MMS.
%Success = MMS Received / MMS Attempt
• MO and MT of SMS & MMS are stationary testing and can be done by sending the SMS/MMS to itself.
• Take note that these sets of testing will be done in two (2) scenarios, IDLE mode and RRC connected mode
as shown in the table of FT report.

INTERNET BROWSING
Requirement:
• Laptop / Internet Browser
Procedure:
• Make sure that the LTE SIM is connected.
• Do internet browsing.
• Capture the screen with the successful internet browsing with the connection manager
displaying that the LTE UE is connected.
• One (1) successful attempt is enough per each sector.

 Mobility Test Precautions
x During drive test, monitor the measured data (serving cell, neighboring cells, RSRP, SINR,
Throughput etc) and observe the surrounding environment.
x If observed any poor RF condition or throughput result, comment the possibly reason that
cause the poor performance, such as high building blocking etc.
x Maintain the vehicle speed at below 50kmph, unless poor RF area.
x Do not accelerate.
x Do not drive in between big trucks.
x Do not let any vehicle obstruct the signal.
x Do not attempt to stop at one place for longer time period to obtain good throughput result.
x Always use large files for FTP DL/UL testing. Recommend to do FTP DL/UL 5~8 files in the
same time. Do not use small files for FTP DL/UL as it will leads to unstable throughput
performance.
