COGNITIVE THEORIES

is based on the notion that

individuals sometimes have a drive
to reach a clearly defined end state.
 Often, this end state is a reward in
itself.
REINFORCEMENT THEORY

This theory focuses on modifying an

employee’s on the-job behavior through the
appropriate use of one of the following four
techniques:
1. Positive reinforcement
2. Avoidance
3. Extinction
4. Punishment
‘’
That unless an individual can clearly identify their
motivating factors or their significant and meaningful
reasons why they wish to attain the goal, they will
never have the power to attain it. The failure is
directly attributed to motivating factors.”

PATTERNS OF
MOTIVATION
Gaining Individual Rewards
Some cultures, place great emphasis on
individual success, which tends to strongly
motivate members of the culture.
Compensation provides one form of
individual reward. Intangible rewards also
motivate employees.
Working Toward Societal Good
Employees must believe their organization
has a positive effect on society for this type
of motivation to occur. Employees must
understand and agree with the company's
mission statement, and understand their role
in fulfilling this mission.
Fulfilling Team Goals
Employees may take great pride in being
part of a successful team and fulfilling its
goals. Such employees enjoy seeing their
team succeed, savoring the positive publicity
the organization receives, regardless of
whether they receive personal recognition.
Combinations
Strong managers evaluate which patterns of
motivation work best in their organization.
They observe different staff members to
learn what motivates them.
BUILDING
TRANSNATIONA
L
CORPORATIONS
Transnational Corporation
an enterprise that is involved with the
international production of goods or services,
foreign investments, or income and asset
management in more than one country. It sets
up manufacturing factories in developing
countries as land is cheaper there.
CHARACTERISTICS
OF
TRANSNATIONA
L
CORPORATIONS
1. Transnational corporations share many
qualities with multinational corporations, with
the subtle difference being that multinational
corporations consist of a centralized
management structure, whereas transnational
corporations generally are decentralized, with
many bases in various countries where the
corporation operates.
2. A transnational corporation operates
substantial facilities, does business in
more than one country, and does not
consider any particular country its
corporate home.
3. Transnationality also refers to the extent to
which a firm engages in value-creating activities
across national borders. Faced with accelerated
globalization, managers often make decisions to
expand a firm's transnationality in order to enable
the firm to effectively compete with rivals on a
global scale.
BUILDING
TRANSNATIONA
L
CORPORATIONS
Choose your location with an eye
on the future.
Think big from the beginning. Start by
deciding whether you’ll be in-office,
distributed or partially distributed, but
prepare to be a global company from day
one.
2. Be ready to expand -- but only
when the time is right.
Starting your business with a targeted focus
and an eye on expansion is a good idea, but
you must scale wisely.
3. Set up processes for
communication and information
flow.
One of the primary purposes of technology
is solving communication barriers, but all too
often, technology
ends up becoming a barrier in and of itself,
according to research by Dynamic Signal.
Thank You

God Bless!
