INTRODUCTION
• Employees are the life blood of any organization.

• Resources make things possible but only human resources make things happen.

• Human Resource Management (HRM) refers to the functional field which is


concerned with managing people at work.

• One of the functions of HRM is health and safety management.

• Promoting workplace safety and health is a critical HRM activity


• Since February 2020 a shocking disease called COVID-19 or Corona
has been attacking the people in the entire world.

• The entire focus of this paper revolves around:

1. What is COVID-19?
2. Its impact on the employees.
3. Which employees are at greater risk?
What is COVID-19?
• Corona virus is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered
coronavirus.
• Virus spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from
the nose when an infected person coughs or sneezes.
• Declared as pandemic by WHO.
• Most common symptoms:
1. fever
2. dry cough
3. Tiredness
COVID-19 & CHALLENGES FACED BY
HR
• The ongoing Coronavirus or COVID-19 pandemic swept the world in a matter of
weeks.
• In these difficult times, many businesses are struggling to keep their doors open and
all must find ways to keep their employees safe, comfortable and productive.
• The costs to the organization are very high when its high performing employees
become infected.

1. Provide direction, confidence and resilience. 


2. Be flexible.
3. Keep workers safe by maintaining a healthy work environment.
4. Create guidelines and support networks for those working from home.
