2
Introduction
• Osseointegration defined as direct functional linkage of the implant
surface and surrounding bone. It is crucial for the long-term success
of dental implant.

• FACTORS INFLUENCING OSSEOINTEGRATION

BEHAVIOR

 Thread shape of abutment screw

Pitch of the thread of abutment screw

Tissue reaction at tissue –implant interface
Surface roughness and topography

3
Stages in implantation

(a)Gum tissue is removed and implant is inserted in the bone.

(b) Osseointegration takes place for 4-6 months.
(c) Attaching the abutment to the implant.
(d) Placing a prosthetic tooth on abutment.

Literature Survey

No.
1. Ramesh chowdhary et al (2013) • Eight thread patterns are analyzed with same
boundary conditions and load.

• V-shape thread has shown very low stress

among all the thread shape for axial loading.

2. Maryam Geramizadeh et al(2018) • Sensitivity study of various threads was

done

• V –shape with micro threads found to be

optimum

3. D. Kurniawan et al (2012) • ANOVA Table Formation

5
Objective
• Comparison among various factors affecting osseointegration
phenomenon by using DOAE approach.
