•X’s relationship with India dates back to 1912, when it began importing and
selling finished products in the Indian market.
•After India's independence in 1947, the economic policies of the Indian
Government emphasized the need for local production. X responded to India's
aspirations by forming a company in India and set up its first factory in 1961 at
Moga, Punjab.
•In 1947, following several changes in ownership and corporate structure, Y's
holding company merged with the X company. However, Y was not launched in
India until 1980’s upon which it became a huge success. Y is a product
manufactured by X.

•In some stock markets, the X effect is the phenomenon of stock returns in October being lower
than in other months. The name comes from X’s quote: "October is one of the peculiarly
dangerous months to speculate in stocks. The others are July, January, September, April,
November, May, March, June, December, August, and February.”
•The fact that X specifically picks out October initially is taken as a reference to an "October
effect", as exemplified by the 1929, 1987 and 2008 stock market crashes which roughly occurred
in October. X was bankrupt by the age of 59, which undoubtedly contributed to his cynical view of
stock speculation.

•Kendall Jenner was slammed for her feature in the notorious ad for the co.
which many said was a farce of the Black Lives Matter movement.
•The ad, called “Live for Now,” shows a peace protest happening on the street
in front of Jenner’s ongoing photo shoot. After watching the demonstration stir
up, Jenner joins in to the delight of the protesters. Jenner then walks through
the crowd, picks up a product of this Co.and hands it to one of the riot control
police officers.
•Now for the part that threw everyone off: the officer cracks open the can in
suspenseful silence, takes a sip, nods in approval and then, finally, the crowd
goes absolutely mad with joy.

•On June 19th, 1998, The Walt Disney Company released their animated feature film Mulan,
the story of a brave daughter who posed as a man and enrolled into the Chinese military to
take her wounded father's place in the fight against the Hun invasion. To coincide with the
upcoming Disney film, X's released a new limited-time condiment, the Y teriyaki dipping sauce.
After the promotion of the film, the sauce was removed from all McDonald's restaurants.
•Talk of X’s Y Sauce became prominent in 2017 when it was referenced in dark comedy
series Z.
• The unexpected nature of the premiere episode generated large amounts of discussion
about the episode across social media, and with it, discussion of the repeatedly mentioned Y
Sauce, driving many fans of the show to want to try the sauce for themselves. Fans took to
Twitter, Facebook, and other social networking sites to demand that McDonald's reintroduce Y
Sauce to their menu. X confirmed in a Twitter post that the Y Sauce would be returning for a
single day in U.S. restaurants, on October 7th, 2017.
