PROJECT TITLE: PACKAGE BOREPILE : CONSTRUCTION AND COMPLETION OF PILING WORKS (BORED PILE) FOR BRIDGE NO.1, NO.2, NO.3, NO.4 & NO.6 AND OTHER ASSOCIATED WORKS FOR MALAYSIA VISION VALLEY (MVV) - MEMBINA JALAN BARU DARI NILAI - LABU KE BANDAR ENSTEK, DAERAH SEREMBAN, NEGERI SEMBILAN Site location
• The job site is in Daerah Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. From Nilai to
Labu. The exact location of the site is shown in below picture. Working at Bridge 2 • Total borepile 20 nos • Abutment 2/A, Pier 2/1, Pier 2/2, Pier 2/3 and Abutment 2/B • 8 nos 1350mm • 12 nos 1500mm • 1 MLT • 4 PDA • Selected CSL Bore Pile Methodology 1) Pile setting Up • Site clearing and making good platform for Boring Rig and Crawler Crane • Surveyor peg the point and setup the pile position as per design drawing. • Workers marking and offset the position with pin for re-centring. 2) Pre boring and installation of casing • Pre boring will conduct to ensure the casing easily to install • temporary steel casing shall be driven by the vibrator (vibro-hammer) • casing shall be installed into such depth (minimum 1.0m or below the unstable strata) to prevent collapse of any unstable soils • Top of casing shall be around 500mm above platform level to prevent the falling hazard into the bored hole Prebore Installation of temporary casing 3) Surveyor taking New As built Coordinate • New as built survey coordinate shall be taken • to ensure that the vertically is within the permissible tolerance (75mm) • To prepare/give new Top of Casing Level( TOC), Existing Ground Level( EGL) for bore depth calculation to Engineer/Supervisor 4) Boring of Pile • Soil bucket( auger/soil boring) shall be used to bore out soft to hard soils • during the boring process, either water or polymer slurry (depending on sub soil condition) will be introduced into the borehole as drilling fluid • Extracted soil and slurry during boring of hole will be separated • During bore piling, the un-used soil will be dump to storage tank and the slurry will be pump back to slurry storage(silo/storage tank) provided at site • The excavator will remove the soil from storage tank to soil lorry Drilling Bucket ( Soil ) • When very hard soils or rock are encountered, core barrels may also be used to reach the design founding level if required. • Soil boring bucket will be replaced to Rock Boring Bucket • Engineer/supervisor will inform Consultant regarding boring situation • Rock sample will be taken every 1m to be verified by Point Load Test(PLT) • Result of PLT will be revised by Consulant for New Design Pile Length • Upon reaching the design/revise level, the drilling tools will be replaced with cleaning bucket Rock Boring Bucket Collecting Rock Sample Rock sampling Point Load Test PLT RESULT 5) Termination of Bore Pile • The base cleaning completed when depth measured recorded stable after a few repeating of cleaning exercises • Plumb with sufficient weight shall be installed at the end of measuring tape to ensure it will be able to reach the bottom of bored hole • termination of boring shall be subject to approval from the engineer or RE or IOW • Stabilization fluid test will be carried out for check the pH, Viscosity, Density and sand content Termination Comfirmation Polymer test 6)Installation of Steel Reinforcement Cage • fabricated reinforcement cage is then lowered into the completed hole. The cage will be of length, size and reinforcement details in accordance to the specifications or construction drawing • Rebar cage will be inspected by Consultant to make sure followed the detail drawing • Borelog/bore detail/rebar detail will be prepared for the record • After installing of reinforcement cage and prior concreting of pile, the base shall be plumbed and checked by engineer or representative of engineer (IOW). • The trimee pipe and concrete hooper will be installed until toe level(base) for concreting preparation Rebar cage inspection Borelog Rebar Detail Rebar cage installation Tremie and concrete hooper installation 7) Concreting of Pile • Concreting shall be carried out using tremie method • The tremie pipe shall be assembled in 1.0 to 3.0m sections with shorter section near the top • Concreting by tremie method will continue until the concrete level is approximately of minimum 0.5m above pile cut-off level • The tremie shall be dismantled and shortened progressively, but at all times maintaining at least 2-3m embedded within concrete • During the pouring of concrete, the displaced drilling fluid will be pumped back to the treatment plant (silo / water tank). • Higher overcast may be required to allow for concrete slump down during casing extraction (flushing) concreting 8) Extraction of Temporary Casing • Temporary casing shall be extracted within 1-2 hours after concreting has completed • temporary casing shall be extracted using vibrator until the casing is loosened • the finished bore pile area will be cleared and covered with steel plate and backfilled • Housekeeping Concreting record Thanks you !!
