Procedures for the long talks
1. If you have time, preview the answers to the
questions to anticipate the topic and the questions.
2. Listen carefully to the first line of the talk.
3. As you listen to the talk, draw conclusion about the
situation of the talk, where and when it takes place.
4. While listening, follow along with the answers in
your test paper and try to determine the correct
answers.
5. Guess even you are not sure.
6. Use any remaining time to look ahead at the answer
to the questions that follow.

W: DanI’d like to change my job


M: You’re at the Hamburger Express in the High St,
aren’t you? What’s the problem ?
W: well, I never know what hours I’m going to work.
I start at 7pm and I’m supposed to finish at 11 pm,
but sometimes they keep me until 2 or 3 am.
M: Yes that is a bit late if you have to make at 9 am
lecture the next day.
W: And the other thing is the pay. They are supposed
to pay me on Thursday, but they nevr pay me on
the correct day, often not until Friday or Saturday.
