Step 1: Break down the numbers into tens

24 × 12

Step 2: Multiply each number in bracket 1 with both numbers in bracket 2

That means: ( 20 × 10 ) + ( 20 × 2 ) + ( 4 × 10 ) + ( 4 × 2 )

Calculate!
20 × 10 = 200
20 × 2 = 40
4 × 10 = 40
4×2=8
Add the answers together to get a final answer.
200 + 40 + 40 + 8 = 288
