Translation is often thought as process of
transferring meaning from source language into
target language.
 Definition Of Translation
1. Collin (dictionary) : translation is a piece of writing or speech that has
been put into different language.
2. 2. Dictionary of definition : Translation is a changing from one state or
form to another 3.
3. Catford defines that translation as a replacement source text which
equivalent to the target.
4. Ernst and Gutt states that the translation is intended to restate in one
language what someone else said or wrote in another language 5.
5. Munday states that translation as changing of an original written text in
the original verbal language into a written text in a different verbal
language. it can be concluded that translation connects between two or
languages (multy-language) which emphasize more on equivalent
  
Principles of Translation

• A translation must give the words of the original.

• A translation must give the ideas of the original.
• A translation may never add or omit the original.
• A translation should be read like the original.
• A translation should be read as contemporary of the
original.
• A translation should posses the style of the translation.

Equivalence is defined as a relationship existing between two entities,
• Accuracy in Translation
Accuracy means the content of the translation must be identical with
that of the original text.
• Naturalness in Translation
The concept of naturalness for a translation to be acceptable is to use a
natural form of target text.
