- Almost 67 per cent of students have heard
rape or sexual assault jokes whilst on campus
- 49 per cent of sexual assault survivors have
reported issues with their mental health
- 60 per cent of sexual assault or stalking cases
involved a student as the perpetrator
- 25 per cent of sexual assault survivors stated
that their studies had been effected

Pledge
I pledge to be an ambassador for change by:
• Educating myself and others about sexual harassment, assault and rape
• Acknowledging that anyone can be subjected to sexual harassment
regardless of their sexuality, gender, race, religion, or disability
• Intervening when I see peers or colleagues experiencing unwanted
behaviour or attention*
• Interrupting conversations or jokes that promote a culture of sexual violence
• Creating an environment in which sexual harassment is unacceptable and is
supportive of survivors.

Successes of the Campaign
• Almost 1,000 pledges (including sabb officers, students and staff)
• Featured on various media outlets including BuzzFeed, BBC
Trending, HuffPost, King’s Media, LSE’s ‘The Beaver’,
Cosmopolitan, NUS Connect, Al Jazeera and Elle
• NUS recognised the campaign
• Part of the Good Night Out Campaign + successfully passed the
Lad Culture motion
• Part of the NUS Lad Culture Pilot Scheme
• Huge Social Media Campaign (over 700 likes within 2 months)
• Convinced the university to provide further funds for Jan 2016
• The University has offered co-founder of the campaign, Hareem
Ghani, an opportunity to work with the university re: student
engagement
• Working closely with external organisations like FOSIS
Future Aims Of The Campaign
• Two week long fundraisers in mid-to-late January 2016 to
increase presence on campus, and refresh the campaign;
• Funds from the fundraiser will be used to facilitate safe
spaces for survivors of sexual assault (via Rape Crisis
Centre)
• Setting up specialist support groups for BME students
• Set up self care workshops
• Get the university to commit delivering consent
workshops to Freshers & for the Union to embed it into
President and Treasurers training
• For the University to pay consent workshop facilitators
Ambassadors for the Campaign
Their role includes:
• Liaising with Individual Societies
• Setting up Events (Room Bookings, Contacting External Speakers
etc.)
• Promotion of Events (via Social Media and Putting up Posters on
Campus)
• Working with Student Media to get Coverage for the Campaign
• Working together to roll out Welfare Workshops for Students
and Staff
• Delivering Consent Workshops
• Delivering Presentations about the Campaign to Freshers
