What is Static Electricity? ESD is a fast, silent, invisible killer of PC components. There are two ways that static charge can build up to the point where an ESD becomes a danger: •Anything that moves or rubs against anything else has the potential to generate static electricity, which could result in ESD. •A spark resulting from a poor electrical connection or an unshielded or damaged cable is also a form of ESD.
