‫‪102_Surah_Al-Takathur‬‬
 The mutual rivalry (for hoarding
worldly things) preoccupy you.

• Takathur has cause you all to fall into ‘LAHW’

• Takathur implies two or more people doing the verb together, against one
another.
• Takthur: Competing with one another to see who has more
• The object of competition is not mentioned, because they are too
numerous to be listed.
Surah_Al-Hadid 57:20
Know well that the life of this world is merely

• Difference Between Lahw and La’b

• Allah describes this whole world as being both :
• Lahw: Stems from Senseless Desires, La’b Stem From Pleasure
• Lahw: Causes you to neglect duties, La’b doesn’t cause you to do so.
• Lahw : useless, has no benefit. La’b has some benefits and can be useful
at times (brothers of Yusuf(as))

• Musabaqat (from which sabiqu of the original is derived) means to

compete
Points to Noted : Allah will not surprise the inner sole of the Human Nature, But it show
the right way to active it. Competition as Such not a bad thing

 Impacts Of Takathur

•  Narrated Anas bin Malik ( ‫)رضيهللا عنه‬

Allah’s Messenger (6‫ وسلم‬666‫وآ‬
‫ له‬6‫ عليه‬666‫ىهللا‬6‫) ) صل‬said, “If Adam’s (6‫سالم‬66‫ لا‬6‫) )عليه‬son
had a valley full of gold, he would like to have two valleys, for nothing fills
his mouth except dust. And Allah forgives him who repents to Him.”Sahih
al-Bukhari 6439

wealth, my wealth.’ Do you own of your wealth other than what you eat
and consume, and what you wear and wear out, or what you give
in Sadaqah (charity) (to those who deserve it), and that what you will
have in stock for yourself.” Riyad as-Salihin Book 1, Hadith 483

• Visit while your are alive to get realize
• For those who do benefit before its too late, Only death will stop them
• Historical background( Bani Abd Manaf and Bani Sahm)
• Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah said, “Three things follow the
deceased person, and two of them return while one remains behind with
him. The things which follow him are his family, his wealth and his deeds.
His family and his wealth return while his deeds remain.” Al-Bukhari
Again nay! You shall come to know! Nay! You shall come to know!

• Meaning of kalla
• Purpose of repetition is to bring attention and emphasize
• You will regrets :
• Ibne Abaas(RA) narrated 1. when you see the Angels of Death 2. when your deeds present before
you.

• What show you come to Know:

• (How you wasted your life )
• Your vain and useless desire to compete with one another
and always have more than other people has cause you to
waste your time and resources, and gain nothing in return,
since you have neglect your duty to strive for the Akhirah.
