Anna Fonte Garden

Introduction
• In 2006, Ana Fonte garden was establish by authorities. Despite
pressures from reality groups. It is located in the midest of the city of
Margao. The garden consist of 3 new fountain and foot bridges. On
January 25 2006, the then chief minister Pratap Singh rane
inaugurated it. The inauguration event was attended by Margao MLA,
art and culture minister Digambar Kamat and then deputy CM late
Wilfred Dsouza, former Margao municipal council members. Two
years later a musical fountain was inaugurated.
• The park maintenance committee, Madhav S Bhandarkar installed
structures of animals at the corner of the park.
• A canteen to came up to serve the visitors, included children, senior
citizens and young couples.
• The musical fountain which enthralled visitors on weekend after
sundown was a major reason to draw attention of families and
tourists
• Its opening time during the day: 5.00 p.m. - 10.00.p.m.
• The musical fountain are one of the most attractive soothing things
about this place, they start the musical fountain at 7.00 p.m. it is
played from Friday – Sundays
• They don't play the musical fountain during rainy days.
• It doesn’t have swings or slides where in children can play in the
garden.
• The area is very clean, fresh and has plenty of area for people to
spend time.
• It has a paved footpath all around its outside walls where people jog
the mornings and evenings.

• Such parks with recreational facilities in a neighbourhood reduces
crime rate as specially amoung youth, acts as a safe place for people
to intereact and also a small hotspot for biodiversity conservation.
• Such small city garden make a huge diffirence. It also helps to keep
the city green.
• It provides place for physical activity and also a great opportunity for
parents to bond with children.
• It is crusical for the healthy development of the city. They also benefit
