Net dosage required = (Total Population – (Active Cases * Vaccine’s Time to

Market) – (Recovered Cases * Vaccine's Time to Market))

Active Cases per month = 2 .5 lakh * 30 days = 60 lakhs per month
Recovered Cases per month = 0.5 lakh * 30 days = 15 lakhs per month
Net dosage required = (8 Bn – (60 lakhs * 18) – (15 lakhs * 18))
i.e. (8 Bn – 0.108 Bn – 0.027 Bn) = 7.865 Bn
A 10 ml vial can be used to vaccinate 10ml/2 ml = 5 Patients
No. of Vials required to eradicate COVID-19 = (Net dosage required)/(Dosage
per vial)
i.e. = 7.865 Bn/5 = 1.573 Bn Vials

To simplify the problem and calculations, I would like to estimate the Therefore 1.573 Bn Vials are required to eradicate COVID-19 from the world.
number of vials of vaccine required to eradicate COVID-19 from the Note:- Validating it from the Supply Side
demand side by the following approach and validate it from the supply
side. # of vials = (Production Capacity)/(Volume of storage of 1 vial)
Production Capacity of the Pharmaceutical companies = (# of successful
Vials
projects) * (Production Capacity per year)
i.e. (150*8%)*(20%* 5 Bn ml/year) = 12* 1 Bn ml = 12 Bn ml
(Total population) – (Active Dosage Hence # of vials = 12 Bn ml/10 ml = 1.2 Bn Vials per year can be produced
Cases) – (Recovered Cases) per vial So by 18 months we will have = 1.2 Bn*1.5 = 1.8 Bn Vials and that is way
sufficient to treat all the people across the globe and help in eradicating
COVID-19
