WSSU ATHLETICS INTERNSHIP

INTERNSHIP DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Required to work a MINIMUM of 40 hours a week


• Internship title:  WSSU intern for the athletic department
• Duties & responsibilities:  Assisting the department of athletics with ALL sporting event
(set up & break down of events, distribution and care of equipment, attending all
necessary meetings, social media & marketing, inventory, recording and uploading video,
compliance, and organizing and promoting athletic events.

• WSSU athletics is a division two
athletic program that is a part of the
Central Intercollegiate Athletic
Association (CIAA). This program
offers football, men and women's
basketball, softball, women's track
& field, golf, volleyball, tennis,
cross country, and cheer.
APRIL REID
• Former WSSU psychology major class of 2012
• Job title- Director of Athletic Facilities, Equipment, & Gameday Operations at WSSU
• Been in this position since 2015

• Job description- oversees all campus athletic facilities making sure that everything
functions properly. In charge of the distribution, maintenance, and ordering of sports
equipment. Coordinates all on-campus athletic games & events (football,
basketball, softball, etc.)
