• CAPACITY - THE CAPACITY OF THE AUDITORIUM IS 850.
WHERE 125 SEATS ARE ARRANGED ON THE BALCONY.

• INTRODUCTION - IT WAS BUILT TO HOST MARATHI-LANGUAGE


THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS AND OTHER EVENTS. NAMED FOR THE
NOTED SOCIAL REFORMER AND WRITER, THE LOKSHAHIR
ANNABHAU SATHE AUDITORIUM HAS AN UNDERSTATED YET
STRIKING ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN AND AN ELEGANT INTERIOR
WITH THE FINEST QUALITY APPOINTMENTS AND AUDIO/VIDEO
FACILITIES THROUGHOUT, INCLUDING AN AUDIO SYSTEM BUILT
AROUND HARMAN PROFESSIONAL’S JBL, CROWN AND DBX. 
LOKSHAHIR ANNABHAU SATHE AUDITORIUM WAS BUILT UNDER
THE AUSPICES OF GOVERNMENT AGENCY PUNE MUNICIPAL
CORPORATION, WHICH CHOSE ZILLION SOLUTIONS OF PUNE.
THE AUDITORIUM HAS THE AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
INSTALLED IN IT.
PARKING FACILITY IS AVAILABLE – ON PAY AND PARK BASIS
THERE ARE VARIOUS FACILITIES OFFERED TO THE ARTISTS
INCLUDING REHEARSAL ROOM, 4 GREEN ROOMS, AND 4 LODGING
ROOMS.V.I.P. ROOMS ARE AVAILABLE FOR SPECIAL GUESTS.
ALSO MULTIPURPOSE HALL IS CONSTRUCTED APPROXIMATE OF
6000 SQ. FT.

TREATMENT OF INTERIOR SURFACES -

• THE TREATMENT OF INTERIOR SURFACES LIKE CEILINGS, SIDE


WALLS, REAR WALLS PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN THE
ACOUSTICAL DESIGN.
• THE CEILINGS AND WALLS SHOULD PROVIDE FAVORABLE
REFLECTIONS TO REINFORCE THE SOUND THAT REACHES THE
REAR PARTS OF A BIG AUDITORIUMS.
• THE REAR WALLS SHOULD BE EITHER FLAT OR CONVEX IN SHAPE.
• IN LARGE HALLS, A FALSE CEILING IS USUALLY PROVIDED BELOW
THE TRUSSES. THE POSITION OF THE FALSE CEILING NEAR THE
STAGE AREA IS CONSTRUCTED OF REFLECTIVE
MATERIAL( USUALLY PLASTER OF PARIS) AND IS SUITABLY
INCLINED TO HELP REFLECTION FROM THE STAGE TO REACH THE
REAR SEATS OF THE HALL.
• THE REMAINING PORTION OF FALSE CEILING IS CONSTRUCTED TO
TAKE ACOUSTICAL MATERIAL.
• CONCAVE SHAPED CEILING, IN FORM OF DOME OR BARREL
SHOULD BE AVOIDED.

DIM LIGHTS ARE USED ON POROUS SURFACE IS


THE CEILINGS WHICH ARE CREATED AROUND THE DIM
CONTROLLED FROM THE LIGHT SO THAT THE SOUND
ELECTRICAL ROOM. RAYS DIMINISH INSIDE.
A PIT IS PROVIDED IN THE SMOKE DETECTORS ARE
FRONT SIDE OF THE STAGE PLACED IN THE CEILING
SO THAT THE PEOPLE WHERE AS SPRINKLERS ARE

SURFAE AT THE TOP. WOODEN FINS ARE PLACED NEAR TO THE STAGE
SO THAT IT CAN ABSORB THE VIBRATIONS FROM THE INSTRUMENTS.
