INTRODUCTION

Pili (Canarium ovatum), is a plant abundant in Bicol Region. Known for its edible nut, pili
is also a source of oil that is rich and fatty acids, as well as Vitamins A and E. Also, pili oil
is a good source of protein, iodine, and calcium.

Pili oil has different uses, ranging from culinary to cosmetics. Pili oil can be used in salad
dressings, as a substitute for olive oil, and other food preparations. Pili oil is also used in
making lipsticks, shampoos, perfumes and soaps.
