and rapid urbanization has
enormous potential to become
one of the leading destinations for
Retail trade in the country.
• Easy access to 2 international
airports at Chandigarh and New
Delhi and proximity to 2 major
industrial corridors that is DMIC &
AKIC
Existing Logistics and
Warehouse Ecosystem

Haryana is one of the


leading logistics hubs in
the country with a total
of 9 inland container
depots (ICDs), 3
container freight
stations and 8 private
freight terminals.
• The state at present, is one of the leading exporters in the nation with the total
value of state exports valued at INR 69,485 crores.

• They are focusing to developing big ticket logistic projects in the state, along with a
special package of incentives under the Maha Nivesh Yojana as well supporting the
smaller logistic units as ancillaries.

• They have 60% of its area under Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC) covering
major districts such as Faridabad, Palwal, Rewari, Hisar, Sonepat, Manesar,
Gurugram and sizeable confluence of Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC);
resulting in increasing demand for advanced logistics mainly container traffic, bulk
and break-bulk cargo.

• The Logistics Ease Across Different States (LEADS) index is a composite


indicator to assess international trade logistics across states and Union
LEADS SCORE territories.
• It is based on a stakeholders’ survey conducted by Deloitte for the Ministry
of Commerce and Industry.

• A logistics park will be developed on a minimum
area of 25 acres with a total investment of at least
25 Crore and will include but not be limited to the
following activities:

Logistics • Industrial plots and ready to move in sheds


• Logistic services
Infrastructure • Infrastructure for value added and ancillary
services, commercial activity
• Sector specific in-bound and out-bound logistic
• A Cold Chain Facility can be developed with minimum investment of INR 15 crore
and minimum area of 20,000 sq. ft.

• A “Logistics Zone” will be earmarked along and around the KMP expressway.

• Inter-modal transfer arrangements/facilities, truck terminals. Logistics Park should


be accessible, at minimum, by a 2- lane paved road, with a minimum approach
road of 60 ft
FUTURE OBJECTIVES

• Creation of at least 5 Logistics Parks


across Haryana with private sector
participation (by 2023)
• Attract investments to the tune of INR
10,000 Cr. in Logistics, Warehousing &
Retail sectors 3.
• Generate employment to the tune of
25,000 new jobs 4.
• Target increase in consumption by
developing retail hubs in major towns
of the State
• Creation of Logistics Park and
Warehousing Complex in every district
of Haryana.

RE OF UAE
INTRODUCTION

• While Dubai’s reputation as an important


maritime trade and air transport centre is
already well established, the emirate is also
rapidly emerging as a leader in transport and
logistics innovation.
• Dubai’s transport and logistics sector
experienced strong growth in 2019,
continuing to underpin the emirate’s wider
economy.
• Integrated free zones and huge
infrastructure investments play a
huge part in its logistics
transformation.
• Much of the current investment activity in the sector
is being injected into transport infrastructure projects
for Dubai Expo 2020, which is expected to attract
over 25m visitors.

• This points to the fact that Dubai International


airport is currently the world’s sixth busiest in
terms of cargo traffic and Jebel Ali port is the
ninth biggest container port undergoing
further expansion to meet the surge in
upcoming traffic.
Growth • The Dubai Chamber of Commerce
and Industry noted that real GDP of
the UAE’s logistics projected to grow
prospect for at an average rate of 4.1 percent
between 2019 and 2023 compared to
the UAE 2.8 percent growth seen between
2014 and 2018.

• The UAE-China bilateral trade is expected
to cross more than $70 billion by 2021
• The UAE government is also developing a
rail network to connect seaports,
distribution centres, major transportation
hubs, freezone areas and freight
terminals.
• Dubai plans to become one of the top five
logistics centres in the world as part of the
Dubai 2021 plan.
• Free Zone Exchange and Dubai Airport Freezone has
announced the development of Dubai Blink, the world’s
first B2B smart commerce platform”—using artificial
intelligence for the future of free zone trade.

• There are more than 37 Free Zones operating in UAE as of


now
