comparative degree (plural comparative degrees)
(grammar) The form of an adverb or adjective
modified by more or ending in -er that is used when
comparing two things.
Comparative is the second / middle degree of
comparation in the adjective and adverb levels. The
first degree of comparison is positive, while the third
is superlative
Changes in Comparative Degree
Adjective and adverb change shape when used as a
comparison. In the regular form, changes in the form
of adjective and adverb follow a certain pattern. In
contrast to the irregular form, the change in the form
of words does not follow a certain pattern.

Adjective and adverb consisting of one syllable added suffix (suffix) -er.
Usually there is a double consonant letter at the end of a word in the
basic form that is patterned at the end: consonant-vocal-consonant.
