Adjective and Adverb

comparative degree (plural comparative degrees)
(grammar) The form of an adverb or adjective
modified by more or ending in -er that is used when
comparing two things.
Comparative is the second / middle degree of
comparation in the adjective and adverb levels. The
first degree of comparison is positive, while the third
is superlative
Changes in Comparative Degree
Adjective and adverb change shape when used as a
comparison. In the regular form, changes in the form
of adjective and adverb follow a certain pattern. In
contrast to the irregular form, the change in the form
of words does not follow a certain pattern.

 Adjective and adverb consisting of one syllable added suffix (suffix) -er.
Usually there is a double consonant letter at the end of a word in the
basic form that is patterned at the end: consonant-vocal-consonant.
