1. Aphorisms are mainly small statements which are powerful and has a

lot of condensed meaning in it

Portrayal of Aphorism by Francis Bacon in the light of his essay


Of Studies and furthermore through analyzing few lines this
presentation will attempt to illustrate what significance this
writing style plays in literature.

"Crafty men condemn studies, simple men admire


them, and wise men use them."

This line has quotable quality, the persuasive power is


enforced. Also, this can be extended into several
paragraphs. This line in the shortest possible way explains
the importance of reading, writing and speaking.

“Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few


to be chewed and digested.”

Bacon has divided the purpose of reading any book intro three. Some book
should have an outcome, some will have less importance and rest of no
importance and more like flashy substance that only grabs attention for a
while.

exact man.”

This provides an analytical approach in the beginning and then he


shifts into elaboration it says Blaisdell in his article Outlines for the
Study of Bacon. Bacon breaks every part of study and focuses on it’s
importance using quotable phrases.

Conclusion

Bacon’s essay are different than conventional literary genre. He was


the first one to write essays in easy, short and direct style. His writing
bears adaptation of Latin idioms and phrases. His style is not only
leaving remark for content but also style.
