RESULTS: • Simulated results for the proposed antenna in term of return loss ,VSWR, gain, and radiation pattern are presented. • The patch miniaturization ratio is obtained by comparing the patch area of proposed and reference antenna. • Brief characterization of the effect of changing the AMC’s patch width, gap width, substrate thickness is also presented.
• Simulated return loss for the proposed antenna is illustrated.
• It shows that the WLAN frequency range requirement
is satisfied, with return loss value below -10 dB for frequency band 2.4 to 2.5 GHz. 6.The structure has a resonance at frequency 2.45GHz with return loss -13.3dB. • The reference antenna gives a similar result with return loss value below -10dB between 2.4GHz and 2.5GHz. Return loss at resonant frequency 2.45GHz is -12.15dB, a slightly poorer value than that of the proposed antenna. • The VSWR value of 2:1 is satisfied on frequency range from 2.4GHz to 2.5GHz • The simulated gain of the proposed antenna is illustrated shows that the gain peaks at 2.47GHz, giving a gain of 1.96dB. At resonant frequency 2.45GHz, the antenna gain is 1.53dB. • The reference antenna gives a slightly higher value. • It is shown that the proposed antenna has a good radiation pattern with no unwanted ripples. • Simulations are conducted to calculate the effects present in the changing of three main parameters, (1) AMC patch width wa, (2) position of patches, denoted by ratio of inner and outer gap width gin and gout, and (3) upper and lower substrate thickness tup and tlow. • To isolate each parameters from their effects, the overall structure size is kept constant. Thus, the substrate width will not be changed. Return loss for varying AMC patch width Return loss for varying inner gap width (gin)
