Management Information System

• A management information system (MIS) is a computer system


consisting of hardware and software that serves as the backbone of
an organization’s operations.

• An MIS gathers data from multiple online systems, analyzes the


information, and reports data to aid in management decision-making.
Management Information System

 These systems access, organize, summarize, and display


information for supporting routine decision making in the
functional areas. Geared toward middle managers.

 MIS are characterized mainly by their ability to produce periodic


reports such as a daily list of employees and the hours they
work, or a monthly report of expenses as compared to a budget .

 Primary purpose to process data into information.


Marketing Research

 The Marketing Research is the systematic collection, analysis,


and interpretation of data pertaining to the marketing
conditions.
Marketing Research

 The basic reason for carrying out the marketing research is to find
out the change in the consumer behavior due to the change in the
elements of the marketing mix (product, price, place, promotion).
