Direct and Indirect Speech

Direct Speech (quoted speech): Refers to reproducing


another person’s exact words. Usually, quotation marks
are used.

Indirect Speech (reported speech): Refers to using a


noun clause to report what someone has said. No
quotation mark used .

Pattern:
