PROBLEM  ACCIDENTS IN INDIA

In 2003 3,65,000
accidents happened.

In 2013 4,43,000
accidents happened.

Number of Road Accidents by month of occurrence in 2003 and 2013.

RESULTS IN 2019

Age-Wise Persons Killed(2019)

This graph depicts that

72737
INDIA is the only country
which faces more than 15
fatalities and 53 injuries
every hour.

32672
And if this condition

22798
continues then road
accidents will increase

100% by 2027.
<18 18 - 3 5 35 - 4 5 45 - 6 0 over 60

This number increased from 2013 to 2019 by 1,00,000.

CAUSES OF ROAD ACCIDENTS

The major cause of road accidents is

the carelessness of driver.

As we can see that 78% of times, it

is the driver who is responsible for
the accident.
WHY THIS PROJECT ?
 A countless number of people drive on the highway day and night. Taxi drivers,
bus drivers, truck drivers and people traveling long-distance suffer from lack of
sleep.
 Due to which it becomes very dangerous to drive when feeling sleepy. The
majority of accidents happen due to the drowsiness of the driver.
 We know there are many application to detect these accidents so that there is a
chance to save them.
 But we think before detection prevention is required
 And there are many things like airbags and assistant in cars to prevent accidents.
 But we come with the driver drowsiness and yawning detection.
OBJECTIVES
 Developed using a non-intrusive machine vision-based concept.
 To design real time face detection system.
 To utilize the face detection system based on Haar classifier.
 The system uses a small monochrome security camera that points directly towards the
driver’s face and monitors the driver’s eyes in order to detect fatigue.
 In such a case when fatigue is detected, a warning signal is issued to alert the driver.
 Also, if the mouth of driver remains open for the certain period of time then it is
considered that driver is yawning and corresponding suggestion are provided to the
driver to overcome drowsiness.
