Graphing 
Table of Values
Mexican Fruit
• Fruits are weighed
electronically in a
supermarket. If a kilo of
Banana cost Php 70. How
much will you pay for ¼ kg,
1/2kg? 3/4 kg? 2kg?

x
y
Linear equation in two variables
• An equation that can be written in the form:
ax + by = c,

Where a, b, and c are real numbers, but a and b

cannot be both zero.
My X’s and Y’s
• 2x – y = 4
• 4x + y = -1
My X’s and Y’s
a) 3x + 2y = 6
b) x–y=4 Make your own values.
c) 6x + 5y = 30 Use (5,y) and (0, y)
d) y = -3x + 1 Use any values.
e) 5x – 3y = 15 Use (6, y) and (3, y)
My X’s and Y’s
a) 3x + y = 6
b) x–y=4
c) 6x + 5y = 30
d) y = -3x + 1
e) 5x – 3y = 15
Graphing
• The set of all points that satisfy the equation is
called a line.

Plot it! 
PT #2 – Cartesian Art #1 (Plotting
Points and Slope)
• August 13 
• Goal: Make an art out of plotting points.
Criteria
Accuracy of Plotting and Slopes of lines formed – correct
coordinates and slope
Aesthetics – ability of student to make a grandiose art by
planning proper placement of coordinates
Concept – uniqueness and relevance of concept/being
critical on the theme “Best Version of Me”

PT #2 – Cartesian Art #1 (Plotting
Points and Slope)
Instructions
• Make an art by plotting and drawing lines
• It must be on a 1/8 illustration board
• You have to decide on your own units and the range
of the units
• The Cartesian plane must be clearly shown with the
art.
Name: Section: Slope of lines:
Accuracy: /10 1)
Aesthetics: /10 2)
Concept: /5 3)
What if x lang?
X=3
x = -2
x = -5
y=4
y = -1
y=5
 Plot it!
1) x + 4y = -2 1) y = 3x – 1
2) y = 2x – 3 2) y = -2x + ½
3) x – 2y = 2 3) y = ½x + 1
4) y=x–5 4) x + 4y = -2
5) 3x – y = -3 5) x–y=1
6) y = 1/2 x – 1 6) 2x + y = -4
 Plot it!
1) y = -5
2) x = -4
3) x=6
4) y=0
Relationship vs Function
• Relationship – any ordered pair
• Function – a relationship where each input has a
single unique output
Domain vs Range
• Domain – the set of all x-coordinate or abscissa
• Range – the set of all y-coordinate or ordinate
