It is beautiful creation by the Inca Tribal
members known as the Maras. The site
contains four separate circular forms and
one horse-shoe bend countered into the
earth.
Each terrace is about 6 feet high with a 23
foot long step, with water piped into the
crater from the nearby mountains, overall
the largest amphitheater could feasible hold
up to 60,000 people and acoustical
performance is allegedly phenomenal.

CIUDAD
ENCANTADA
Ciudad Encantada (“Enchanted City”) is home to a collection of rock
formations that have been molded by the forces of nature that led to
the creation of fantastic shapes, and boldly cantilevered.

These unusual shapes are the result of a unique mineral

composition that causes the lower part of the formation to erode
faster than the top.

The different forms of the rocks are the popular attractions include
the Sea of Stone, the Mushrooms, the Slide, the Lovers of Teruel,
Battle of the Crocodile and the Elephant, and, of course, the
Mushrooms.
