TYPES OF SENTENCES

What is a sentence?​
A sentence may be defined as a group of words that
contains a subject and a predicate and expresses a complete
thought. ​

Examples:​
Subject Predicate

(1) The baby is smiling.


(2) My pet is panda​.

A declarative sentence makes a statement, and it ends with


a period.​
E.g: My cat’s name is Blacky.​

An imperative sentence commands someone to


do something and ends with either a period or an
exclamation point​.
E.g: Please give me a glass of water.​

An Interrogative sentence asks a question, and it ends


with question mark.​
