INDONESIA

Indonesia is located in
southeast Asia, on Malayan
Archipelago, and it is one of
the largest archipelagic
countries in the world.
 It is bordering with:
Malaysia, East Timor, Papua
New Guinea.
The flag consists of two horizontal
lines, upper red and lower white.
 The colors are traditional Indonesian
colors and were used by one royal
dynasty in the 13th century.

Although the flag symbolism is


explicitly explained, there is also a
traditional interpretation of these
colors.
 According to the official
explanation, red represents the blood
of the fallen for independence and
white purity, but red represents
physical life of a person also, and
white spiritual.

So they together make the whole


unity of the person.
The area of Indonesia is 1.905.000
kilometers square.

Capital city is Jakarta ( area: 6,400
kilometers square ) . Jakarta is
located on island Java, Jakarta is
2nd most urban area in the world
( Tokyo first ).
Jakarta’s population is rapidly
increasing, it has 30,214,303 people

million people by 2030 to become
the world's biggest megacity.
Jakarta’s economic growth was
ranked 34th among world’s 200
largest cities.
Jakarta has grown more rapidly
than Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok,
Bejjing.
Indonesian climate is
Tropical climate. The line
of Equator is passing
through Indonesia.
 It is often hit by strong
earthquakes, tsunamis and
sometimes typhoons,
which are destroying
anything that steps on their
way.
And Indonesia is well
known for that.

Indonesia is the country with more than 10.000 islands
The Komodo dragon, found in Indonesia, is the largest lizard in the world,
growing up to 3 meters in length.
Indonesia has the second longest coastline in the world (over 54,000km),

Indonesia has the largest Muslim population in the world. From the
countrie’s total population 250.000.000 people, 210.000.000 are muslims.
The Grasberg mine, located near Puncak Jaya, is the largest gold mine and
the third largest copper mine in the world.
One of the longest snakes ever found was discovered in Sulawesi,
Indonesia in 1912. According to the Guinness World Records, the snake
had a length of 10 meters (or about 32 ft 9.5 in).
Indonesia is the country with more than 100 active volcanos.
After first launching ‘Palapa’ in July 1976, Indonesia became the first
developing country to operate their own domestic satellite system.

are also called sea gypsies, because they are excellent
divers and swimmers, people like to say that they first
learn how to dive than how to walk. They can hold breath
for more than 6 min on 20 meter depth. And they know
every fish specie by heart...
