Appreciating God’s Masterpiece in the

Mirror
To appreciate ourselves we need to
understand who we are
• Genesis 1 :26-28. Then God said, “ Let Us make man in Our
image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over
the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the
cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that
creeps on the earth.”
• So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He
created him; male and female He created them.
• Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and
multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the
fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living
thing that moves on the earth.
Understand this
• We are all made in God Image
• God made each one of us with our own unique qualities. So we must
not think that others are better than yourself because God made
the way you are and when He looks at you God sees His image in you.
• We must learn to appreciate ourselves and thank God for His
presence in our lives. This week we learnt that our identity is in
Christ and we must compare ourselves with others.
• We also learnt that we must be aware of our addiction to the digital
world. Whether we like it or not we are all prone to digital cocaine:
addiction to gadgets whether they are phones laptops, TVs, games
etc,
Understand this:
• We must be aware of peer pressure around us and
choose to remain pure before God
• We must purpose to have healthy relationships with
people around us.
• We must appreciate God Masterpiece made in the
image of God. There are no ugly faces because we
are made in God’s image.
Psalm 139: 1-10
• You have searched me, Lord and you know me. You know when I
sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You
discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all
my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it
completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your
hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty
for me to attain. Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I
flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are
there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on
the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even
there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139: 13-18
• For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my
mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and
wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full
well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in
the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of
the earth.
• Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me
were written in your book before one of them came to be. How
precious to me are your thoughts, God! How vast is the sum of
them. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains
of sand- when I awake, I am still with you
Remember this
• I am created in the image of God.
• God has a perfect plan for your life. It may not be the way you
planned it but God has a good plan for your life
• God has his hand on your life so you can trust Him. You can trust
his plan for your life.
• You are special to God and you are His masterpiece.
• It is hard to see the goodness of God in the midst of problems
or tough situations but we need to trust God to work all things
for His glory.
• All my days are recorded in God’s book.
• God saw you before you were born
God’s hand is upon you
• you are always on God’s mind. God knows everything about
you and has your future in His
Hands.
• You are not a mistake. God has a beautiful plan for your life
on this earth. God has his thumbprint on each of our lives
and he knows our beginning and our end. Amen

• So next time you look at yourself in the mirror..
• Remind yourself…
• You are made in God’s image,
• He loves just the way you are and
You don’t need to change anything
