X-RAYS & GAMMA RAYS

X-rays
 X-rays are a type of radiation called
electromagnetic waves. X-ray imaging creates
pictures of the inside of your body. The images
show the parts of your body in different shades
of black and white. This is because different
tissues absorb different amounts of radiation.
 X-ray, electromagnetic radiation of extremely
short wavelength and high frequency,
with wavelengths ranging from about 10−8 to
10−12 meter and corresponding frequencies
from about 1016 to 1020 hertz (Hz).
Gamma rays
 A gamma ray, or gamma
radiation (symbol γ or. ), is a penetrating form
of electromagnetic radiation arising from the
radioactive decay of atomic nuclei. It consists of
the shortest wavelength electromagnetic waves
and so imparts the highest photon energy.
 Gamma-rays fall in the range of the EM
spectrum above soft X-rays. Gamma-rays have
frequencies greater than about 10^19 cycles per
second, or hertz (Hz), and wavelengths of less
than 100 picometers (pm), or 4 x 10^9 inches.
Extra knowledge
 Lots of exposure with these types of
electromagnetic waves are harmful and very
dangerous to us. :>
