What are search engine?

 A program that searches for

specified by the user, used
especially for finding particular
sites on the World Wide Web.

based tool that enables users
to locate information on the
WWW.
 The information gathered by

searchable index of the web.
Modern web search engines are complex software
systems using the technology that has evolved over the
years.
Google and Yahoo - are the largest search engines that
utilize tens or hundreds of thousands of of computer to
process billions of web pages and return results from
thousands of searches per second.
