BARMS celebration on International Archives Day

The International Council on Archives was

established in Paris during a three-day meeting of
archivists from June 9 to 11, 1948. Its purpose was
to strengthen relations among archivists of all
nations, to promote the use of records,
and to advance the documentation of human
experience.

In the light of above context we also celebrate International

Archives Day every year, to highlight Achives particularly in
developing countries like Bangladesh.

BARMS celebration on International Archives Day

During the 20 International Congress

of Archives in Vienna in 2004, the 2000
participants adopted a resolution calling on
the United Nations to create an International
Archives Day. At its General Assembly in
November 2007, the ICA formalized
the International Archives Day on June 9.

In the light of the above context we also celebrate International

Archives Day every year, to highlight Archives particularly in
developing countries like Bangladesh.
