MILIARIA

• Definition
– Eruption of minute vesicles and papules due to
retention of fluid at the orifices of sweat glands

• Etiology
– Miliaria is caused by obstruction and rupture of
eccrine sweat duct.
• Clinical features
– Miliaria crystillina
• Tiny, clear, vesicles
– Miliaria rubra
• Pricking or burning sensation
• Small, red, papules on trunk, face, extremities
– Miliaria Profunda
• Larger, red, deep papules
• Treatment
– Avoid hot humid places
– Topical Calamine lotion will be soothing
