• The Writing Process:


Plan your writing
• Involves:
• Formulate ideas and draft a rough title
• Identify purpose and audience
• Choose a point of view- single perception
• Selecting verb, sentence mode and cohesive

• To formulate a topic sentence:

• Collate different aspects and focus on main idea


• Sentence must state one idea that hints the idea of the
paragraph
• Must be placed as a first sentence of the paragraph
• Perhaps, starting with a word or a phrase that specifies
writer’s intention- orientation:
• Don’t take cliché topic or a similar topic
• Crucial as subject one is going to write about
• Topic is required to avoid conflicts

• Identifying purpose and audience:


• Why am I writing this topic?
• Who am I addressing?

• Purpose sets direction of one’s writing


• It propels one to communicate thoughts and feelings
• It has relatively strong conviction and enthusiasm
• It provides an overall structure of framework
• Balance between your purpose and audience or reader
• Balance is required to bring impact and immediacy and gain
attention

• A position from where one looks at the idea;
• Good to be decisive in perception;
• It guides to shape conversation or writing
