ADJECTIVES

An adjective is a word that tells us


more about a noun or a pronoun.

An adjective describes or modifies a


noun.
SHORT ADJECTIVES

Short adjectives have one or two sylables.

For example:

Small - tall - big - new - short

nice - old - cheap - easy


SHORT ADJECTIVES
To form the comparative of short adjectives we
add “er” to the adjective and to form the
superlative of superiority we add “est”. e. g.

 Nicida is a tall girl, but Raquel is taller than


Nicida and Yeny is the tallest in the classroom.

 Chota is a big city, but Chiclayo is bigger than


Chota and Lima is the biggest city in Peru.

Short shorter than the shortest
ugly uglier than the ugliest
Cheap cheaper than the cheapest
Easy easier than the easiest

SENTENCES
Frank is taller than George.
Fanny is fatter than Laura.

SENTENCES
 The turtle is a slow animal, but the lazy
bear is slower than the turtle and the
snail is the slowest animal on the earth.

 Carmen is a pretty girl, but Laura is


prettier than Carmen and Fanny is the
prettiest in the office.
