Organization?
 What are the essential Elements in site management?
 What are the consequences of poor site organisation?
INTRODUCTION
Definitions
Site organisation is a detailed and well thought out process which ensures a healthy and safe
construction site throughout its build. An organized construction site establishing a well co-ordination
system among different parts, and performing a good site layout planning.
Increases safety,
Enhances productivity,
boosts profits.
Site organisation
In general, involves many tasks, such as
• site investigation before construction process starts,
• material delivery and procurement management,
• keeping better site records,
• keeping good site communication and high level of information flow,
• monitoring performance regularly,

IMPORTANCE OF SITE ORGANISATION IN CONSTRUCTION

Many companies today are complex systems that require more than ad hoc
design and management. In this presentation, we highlighted some of the
effective site organizational management.
Minimising hazards for workers and visitors
Barrier control
risk-minimisation
Effective site communication
Construction efficiency
Review of Literatures
Poor site organisation and poor environment play major major roles in
project delay, Ayman 2018,concluded, it is important to identify the key
success factor in conjunction with the client and establish key performance
indicators in the form of milestones that will calculate the success for
achieving the project scope.Raymond 2013,opined that Poor communication
is a very common problem in construction projects and its impacts can’t be
understated as it affects the project success. Most problems that occur within
the construction industry are linked to be caused by poor communication
SITE MANAGEMENT
Site management of construction projects requires knowledge of
modern management as well as an understanding of the design and
construction process.
Construction projects have a specific set of objectives and constraints
such as a required
 Time frame for completion.
 Quality
 Cost
 Scope
ONSTRUCTION SITE PLANING/LAYOUT

• A site layout plan shows a detailed layout of the whole site and the relationship of the proposed works
with the boundary of the property, nearby roads and neighbouring buildings. Most applications should
include an existing
Site layout plan These temporary facilities range from simple laydown areas to warehouses,
• Security
• Space available
• Site accommodation and welfare facilities
• Temporary services such as water, drainage, power
• Access to the site, impact on traffic
• Storage of materials
• Plant:
Required temporary facilities and their areas are depending in many factors including project type, scale,
design, location, and organization of construction work.

PROJECT ORGANIZATION

PROJECT ORGANIZATION
construction company’s organizational structure refers to both the
arrangement of job roles and the reporting and operational
relationships between and within these roles. A variety of roles and
responsibilities.
Project organisation structure is divided into two groups:

• Contractor’s organization Structure

• Consultant Organisation Structure

HOW TO IMPROVE SITE ORGANISATION USING
CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY
Construction technology as "the collection of innovative tools, machinery, modifications,
software, etc.
Technology has made construction sites safer and workers more efficient. It has allowed
us to increase productivity, improve collaboration, and tackle more complex projects.
Site Sensors - temperature, noise levels, dust particulates, and volatile organic compounds to help
limit exposure to workers.
Drones - Drones can be used to quickly conduct jobsite inspections and identify potential hazards
each day. They can also be used to monitor workers throughout the day to ensure everyone is
working safely. Drones are being used to take photos of as work progresses to create as-built
models of jobsites to keep everyone informed of the changing work conditions each day.
BIM -Building Information Modeling (BIM) is a process that incorporates digital representations
of buildings in 3D models to facilitate better collaboration among all stakeholders on a project.
This can lead to better design and construction of buildings
Essential Elements of Effective Site
Management
 Organizational structure
 Span of control
 Responsibility and authority
 Discipline & Respect
 Leadership
 Team spirit
 Motivation
 Decision making
 Site supervision
