ARNOLD Schwarzenegger
PAST LIFE
 Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947, in Thal, Styria, the second son of
Aurelia (née Jadrny) and Gustav Schwarzenegger. His father was the local chief of police and
had served in World War II as a Hauptfeldwebel after voluntarily joining the Nazi Party in
1938.
 He married Aurelia on October 20, 1945; he was 38 and she was 23. According to
Schwarzenegger, his parents were very strict: "Back then in Austria it was a very different
world ... if we did something bad or we disobeyed our parents, the rod was not spared." He
grew up in a Catholic family who attended Mass every Sunday.
EARLY EDUCATION AND
BODYBUILDING BEGINNINGS
 At school, Schwarzenegger was reportedly academically average, but
stood out for his "cheerful, good-humored, and exuberant"
character. Money was a problem in their household; Schwarzenegger
recalled that one of the highlights of his youth was when the family
bought a refrigerator.
 Heavily influenced by his father, he played several sports as a boy. He
began weight training in 1960, when his soccer coach took his team to a
local gym. At the age of 14, he chose bodybuilding over soccer as a
career. He later said, "I actually started weight training when I was 15, but
I'd been participating in sports, like soccer, for years, so I felt that
although I was slim, I was well-developed, at least enough so that I could
start going to the gym and start Olympic lifting."
EARLY EDUCATION AND
BODYBUILDING BEGGININGS
 Schwarzenegger took to visiting a gym in Graz, where he also
frequented the local movie theaters to see bodybuilding idols such as
Reg Park, Steve Reeves, and Johnny Weissmuller on the big screen.
 When Reeves died in 2000, Schwarzenegger fondly remembered
him: "As a teenager, I grew up with Steve Reeves. His remarkable
accomplishments allowed me a sense of what was possible when
others around me didn't always understand my dreams. Steve Reeves
has been part of everything I've ever been fortunate enough to
achieve.“
 In 1961, Schwarzenegger met former Mr. Austria Kurt Marnul, who
invited him to train at the gym in Graz. He was so dedicated as a
youngster that he broke into the local gym on weekends in order to
train even when it was closed. "It would make me sick to miss a
workout... I knew I couldn't look at myself in the mirror the next
morning if I didn't do it."
BODYBUILDING CAREER
 Schwarzenegger is considered among the most important figures in the history of
bodybuilding, and his legacy is commemorated in the Arnold Classic annual
bodybuilding competition. He has remained a prominent face in bodybuilding
long after his retirement, in part because of his ownership of gyms and fitness
magazines. He has presided over numerous contests and awards shows.
 One of the first competitions he won was the Junior Mr. Europe contest in
1965. He won Mr. Europe the following year, at age 19. He would go on to
compete in many bodybuilding contests, and win most of them. His bodybuilding
victories included five Mr. Universe wins (4 – NABBA [England], 1 – IFBB
[USA]), and seven Mr. Olympia wins, a record which would stand until
Lee Haney won his eighth consecutive Mr. Olympia title in 1991.
 Schwarzenegger continues to work out. When asked about his personal training
during the 2011 Arnold Classic he said that he was still working out a half an hour
with weights every day.[40]
ARNOLD CLASSIC
 Mr. Olympia
 Schwarzenegger's goal was to become the greatest bodybuilder in the
world, which meant becoming Mr. Olympia. His first attempt was in 1969,
when he lost to three-time champion Sergio Oliva.
 He continued his winning streak in the 1971–74 competitions. He also
toured different countries selling vitamins, as in Helsinki, Finland in 1972,
when he lived at the YMCA Hotel Hospiz (nowadays Hotel Arthur) on
Vuorikatu and presented vitamin pills at the Stockmann shopping center. .
The IFBB Arnold Sports Festival, also known as the Arnold
Schwarzenegger Sports Festival, is an annual multi-sport event consisting
of professional bodybuilding (Arnold Classic), strongman (
Arnold Strongman Classic), fitness, figure and etc. It was established in
1989 and is named after Arnold Schwarzenegger. The main event is held
annually around late February or early March in Columbus, Ohio,
United States, by the International Federation of BodyBuilding & Fitness
(IFBB). It is considered the second-most-prestigious event in professional
men's bodybuilding, physique and figure
It is a festival that hosts thousands of international health and fitness
professionals which has also expanded into a three-day expo
ARNOLD’S SECRET TO
SUCCESS 1.  TRUST
YOURSELF
 No matter what anyone else thinks.  Believe in yourself and never hesitate or second-guess
your gut instincts.  Forget the haters and focus on your goals.  When the going gets tough,
focus on what drives you
 While finding and approaching a clear vision is pretty much the hardest thing for young
people nowadays, Arnold knew what he wanted.
 While he was still in school one day he realized that the USA and Hollywood are where he
wants to be. He had no idea on how to get there yet. But in a pretty young age he focused on
his vision of getting there and living the American Dream.
 With his secret to success utilized in our lives we can state that no matter whatsoever people
discourages you or have a down ward look at you we must just keep our heads high and
concentrate on our work which leads to a very successful future.
ARNOLD’S SECRET TO
SUCCESS 2.  BREAK THE
RULES
 Be an original, think ‘outside of the box.’  Don’t copy what others are doing.  Be yourself.  Be
YOU!  Imagine, dream, hope, and finally live!
 Arnold Schwarzenegger is from a small town in Austria, which is a super small country in the
heart of Europe, which most people don’t even know about.
 He had no kind of advantages or bonuses when he started working on his body, career, and
success. Obviously, thinking big had to be his #1 approach. Without thinking big he would
never have the power to come so far and make his dreams reality.
 YOUR thoughts make the person which you are today. Dream high and keep working
according to your dreams and you would easily reach the pinnacle of mountain.
ARNOLD’S SECRET TO
SUCCESS 3.  DON’T BE
AFRAID TO FAIL
 Always be willing to fail.  Keep your vision in mind and your feet moving forward.
Champions fail; they try again.  They fall; but they get back up.  They lose; then they work
harder.  Be a champion.  Be the champion of your life.
 When Arnold started off (or actually wanted to start off) with his acting career, his biggest
obstacle was his Austrian accent. Additionally, his super big, trained body was also rejected
quite a lot of times. People could not even think of hiring this kind of beast for a Hollywood
role.
 Once Arnold got the role of the Terminator, his body and his accent (especially in ,,I will be
back’’) became his biggest assets.
 Those two characteristics seemed like his biggest obstacles and weaknesses for such a long
time and suddenly became his super-power and biggest assets. It’s is what makes him stand
out from the crowd.
ARNOLD’S SECRET TO SUCCESS 4.
DON’T LISTEN TO THE NAYSAYERS
 Don’t listen to the people who say it can’t be done.  These are the haters.  These people are
jealous and are too afraid to take chances in their own life because they DON’T believe in
themselves and they are not connected to their “why.”
 Pretty obvious statement — get away from those who put you down.
 Along with your journey, there will be so many people who will try to put you down, hold you
back from taking risks and demotivate you.
 Most of those people do so because of the simple fact that they don’t believe that they could
achieve big things and therefore, they don’t want you to get there either.
 If Arnold would have listened to the naysayers, he could never even dream about getting to the
US. He ignored them all. He had his clear vision and trusted in himself and his own abilities
and strengths.
ARNOLD’S SECRET TO
SUCCESS
5. WORK HARD
 Leave no stone unturned!  Don’t be afraid to work hard because achieving your dreams is hard work.
Arnold’s career and successes isn’t about luck, it is about hard work over a long period of time.  And don’t be
afraid to go without sleep.  If you want it bad enough, then nothing will stop you.
 Well, no pain, no gain .
 To get where he is, Arnold probably worked 10 times more than any other US based actor.
 To even get started he took acting lessons, speaking lessons and even accent lessons. And it paid off.
 Because hard work will always pay off.
 No matter how talented someone is — hard work will always beat talent and the feeling of deserving your
success is greater than any other thing.
 The greatest regret that you can have is to fail because you didn’t work hard enough although you could have.
 Putting in the extra hour, pushing the bar one more time or writing 100 words more will always pay off and
bring you to greater places.
ARNOLD’S SECRET TO
SUCCESS 6.  GIVING BACK
 Find time to give something back and try to inspire others.  I don’t like the saying “Pay It
Forward.”  I like my version better; Pay It 360.  Pay It Backwards to people who helped you
get to where you are today.  Pay It Sideways to friends and family who are there with you
every step of the way.  And, finally, Pay It Forward to strangers and new friends, to help them
realize their own greatness and encourage them to expect more from themselves
 Giving back to your community, supporting people and doing good will always lift you up. No
matter how hard you work and how much you deserve your success, there will always be
people who support you along your journey and have an impact on you. Always be aware on
being thankful and giving back at least as much as you receive.
SOME OF HIS QUOTES
 Start wide, expand further, and never look back
 You can have results or excuses. Not both.
 For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to
survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer.
 If you want to turn a vision into reality, you have to give 100% and never stop believing in
your dream.

 Arnold’s many reinventions are a forceful reminder that no matter

where we come from, we are ultimately the masters of our own
destinies, and that passion, hard work and determination are the
only requisites for building the life of your dreams
