NetNumen Function & Interface

Introduction
NetNuman Topology Management
 Network Topology Management
 Support for automatic discovery of the NE nodes in the
network: The nodes automatically discovered are stored
in the network topology database
 Support for manually adding nodes to the network
 Network node filtering: Customization of the filter
 Monitoring of the node running state based on the
network topology
 Support multiple management views based on different
equipment types, different subnets and different

NetNuman Security Management
 Support for right management of the system
functions: Operation rights of multiple system
functions are assigned to specific user groups.
The users in a user group can conduct the
management operations corresponding to the
group rights. The security management rights can
be further divided to the menu level so that the
right management is more flexible
NetNuman Security Management
 Support for right management of the managed
network domain: The managed equipment is
assigned to the specific user, who can manage
the equipment with the assigned rights. In
addition, the security management domain is
based on the network topological areas, which
facilitates the by right and domain management
 System security logs: This includes multiple log
types such as system security log and user
operation log. The system supports auditing of
system operation and user operations.

NetNuman Performance Management
 Collection of performance data: The system automatically collects the
data in the form of registered tasks that are customized by the user
 Storage of history performance data
 Support for display of network performance data in graphical and table
forms
 Monitoring of network performance state and prompt of performance
alarms
 Automatic deletion of history performance data: The user can
customize the storage period of performance data
NetNuman Performance Management
NetNuman Fault Management
 Fault Management
 Display and handling of alarm data in the entire
network: Monitoring of history events and the current
alarm list in a uniform way
 Storage of history alarm data
 Analysis of event correlation and fault location: Alarms
of related types can be combined to pinpoint the fault
 Confirmation and deletion of alarms
NetNuman Fault Management
 Transfer of alarms: Alarms can be transferred to
network nodes in different levels
 Filter of alarms: The user can customize filters
 User definition of alarm levels
 Query and statistics of faults: Support for report
type output
 Fault diagnosis and test

ZXNM01 System Management
 System Self Management
 The system provides the self management functions such as
system startup, initialization, shutdown and backup
 The system provides the link monitoring function between the
NM server and the NM client. When a fault occurs to the link,
the client can prompt users of it in due time
 System Software Management
 Software installation management to provide detailed and
friendly software installation wizard and generate the
corresponding log files
 Software upgrade: The system supports the version upgrade
via patching. During the upgrade, the server needs to be
restarted while the client does not
 Software version management
ZXNM01 System Management
 System Data Management
 The system supports the database backup, restoration and copy functions.

The specified data can be backed up to the designated peripheral memory,

such as disks, magnetic tapes and databases. Also, the contents in the
designated peripheral memory can be restored to the system so that the
users can online use this information
 The system provides the function of exporting configuration data, alarm

data and performance data.

 System Database Management
 The major functions of database management are to manage all the

database systems inside the NMS, check the database resources and
backup/restore data tables and databases. The database server should be
an independent one (separate from the J2EE platform) and does not need
the installation of any extra service to implement remote maintenance

ZXNM01 Policy Management
 Policy Management
 Support for two policy types: Timing execution policy
and event-triggering execution policy
 Policy customization. After being customized, the policy
is registered and triggered in the policy engine, and the
system supports automatic dispatching and protection
based on the network operation condition
 System management policies. The user can customize
the policy execution time and date so that the system
will trigger the policies at the specified time. Such
policies are alarm clearance policy, operation log
clearance policy, performance data clearance policy,
and database backup policy
