Overview

Numax 4000 is a network management system designed for Broadband Access networks, includes
MSAN, IPDSLAM, and PON systems at the element management layer (EML).

EMS supports the management of the following MSAN and IPDSLAM NE types:
➢ MSAN
➢ OLT
EMS supports the management of the PON NE types.

EMS implements all FCAPS functions except account management defined by TMN. These
management modules are listed below:
➢ FM (Fault Management)
➢ CM (Configuration Management)
➢ PM (Performance Management)
➢ SM (Security Management)

Complex System Architecture
Numax 4000 provides a unified network
management solution for telecom network
infrastructures of various size and complexity as well
as for multiple applications.
High Security
The Numax 4000 system is equipped with flexible
and powerful access controls to help network
administrators control access to application, physical
and logical resources. The EMS Client provides a GUI
for remote clients to access the EMS in a distributed
Client/Server system via Windows or UNIX/Linux
operating systems.
Access to the EMS client application is controlled by
user name and password.
Distributed Architecture
Numax4000 is a distributed application system
including one or more Front-End Servers, Back-End
Servers and Database Servers.
High Dependability and Stability
The system can be configured with several servers to
ensure a high availability (HA) network. The servers
in the cluster provide a dual-host hot-backup
environment. At any one time, only one server is
active and the other is on standby.

Topology Management Log Management
The system provides three topology elements: group, Numax 4000 Log Management records every
