WHAT IS A PODCAST?
• A podcast is a series of audio discussion
recordings about a specific topic that is made
available on the Internet for downloading or
streaming.
SOME PODCAST FORMATS
• Interview

- The host/s will interview

a new guest in each
episode who brings their
unique expertise and
experience.
- Reference: The Laptop
Lifestyle with Alexis
Teichmiller
SOME PODCAST FORMATS
• Panel

- It’s similar to an
interview podcast, but
with more people.
- It feels like overhearing
an organic conversation
between friends.
- Reference: The Panel
Show with David Shore
SOME PODCAST FORMATS
• Conversational or Co-hosted

- Two hosts will have a

straightforward conversation
with each other.
- Both hosts have different
roles.
- One might teach lessons while
the other tells stories from
their experience.
- Reference: The Boagworld UX
Show
SOME PODCAST FORMATS
• Solo or Monologue

- It’s the commonly used

format by people who want
to share their specific
expertise or topic with others.
- You only need your voice, a
microphone, a recording
device, and free audio editing
software.
- Reference: CFA Sanctuner
SOME PODCAST FORMATS
• Your Own

- Podcasting is dynamic as
writing or creating a video.
- You can do anything you like
to stand out, build an
audience, and engage your
listeners.
- Experiment with your own
style or mix several styles
together to create something
entirely new.

though they are becoming more discoverable.
