INTRODUCTION

• Child labour or child labor refers to the exploitation of children


through any form of work that deprives children of their childhood,
interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and is mentally,
physically, socially and morally harmful.
Child labour fact sheet in Pakistan:

• More than 12.5 million children are


involved in child labor in Pakistan.
• According to Reuters, “Pakistan’s
Labour Force Survey, 2014-15
showed that of those children aged
between 10 and 14 years active in
child labor, 61 percent were boys and
88 percent came from rural areas.”
Child labour globally :
Causes of Child labour :

• Over population
• Illiteracy
• Urbanization
• Poverty
• Unemployment of elders
• Orphanhood
Consequences of Child labour :

• Long term health problems


• Exhaustion and Malnutrition
• Physical injuries
• Pesticide poisoning
• Growth deficiency
Law for child labour in Pakistan :

• Article 11 of the Constitution of


Islamic Republic of Pakistan
guarantees that:

“No child below the age of 14 years


shall be engaged in any factory or
mine or any other hazardous
employment.”
Conclusion :

• By providing all necessary things we can avoid child labour.


• By the awareness about the education.
• By applying law strictly we can avoid child labour.
• Compulsory education may break the attitude of the people who
force the child to work.
