National League of Nursing Education (NLNE)/National League for Nursing (NLN)
-observed the importance of Health Teaching as a function within the scope of nursing practice.
-recognized nurses as agents for promotion of health and prevention of illness in all settings

 Major cause of morbidity and mortality are those disease that are lifestyle
related and preventable through educational intervention.
