What is HRM?

• Human resource management is designing management systems to


ensure that human talent is used effectively and efficiently to
accomplish organizational goal

What is Personnel management?


• Personnel management involves the administrative tasks that address
the hiring and compensation of a company's employees
Difference between HRM and PM
• Personnel Management establishes rules and regulations while Human
Resource Management create a more flexible condition
• Personnel Management can be described as a reactive but HRM is
more proactive.
• Personnel Management have some divide class with employee, that is
why there will be low trust from their employees while Human
Resource Management has individualistic approach and has high trust
from their employees.
Similarities between HRM and PM
• Both of their strategies result from the business strategy
• Both need line managers in order to manage their people in their
organization
• Both put the right people into the right jobs
• Both manage their employees’ wages and salaries

scope compared to Personnel Management.
• Personnel Management is a part of HRM. HRM consists some other
aspects apart from Personnel Management i.e strategic part and
operational part.
