• Liver disease viral hepatitis, cirrhosis of liver, severe dehydration, rhabdomyolysis (break down of muscle
tissue)

2 Write name of 2 drugs causing brown colour urine.

• Chloroquine, Primaquine, Metronidazole, nitrofurantoin, Cascara, senna.

3 What advice should be given to patient?

• Urine may be dark brown in colour in morning because of overnight dehydration. Take plenty of water
during day time to avoid brown colour of urine due to dehydration.
