Affective Domain Guidelines
Affective domain covers the student code of conduct/ behavior/attitude
that will be assessed accordingly as follows:
1. Punctuality = 15: Students come to class on time. We consider the
students are present if they show up at least 20 minutes after the
class session commences

during the class session
(PS: The students can turn off the camera for only 20 minutes
otherwise it will affect their absence)
Affective Domain Guidelines

READING TECHNIQUES
SKIMMING & SCANNING
Skimming is …
◦ to read quickly in order to get a general idea of a passage.

◦ skimming requires you to note only information and clues

that provide an idea of the central theme or topic.
SCANNING
Scanning is…
◦ very fast reading.
◦ skipping over many words.
◦ looking for specific information as quickly as you can.
◦ important for improving your reading skill because you do
not read every word; you read faster instead, to understand
faster as well.
LET’S PRACTICE SKIMMING AND SCANNING
TECHNIQUES

WRITING CLINIC - FREE WRITING
◦ After reading (implementing skimming and scanning techniques) “Gen Z’s use of social media has evolved”,
now it’s time to do FREE WRITING. What is FREE WRITING?

◦ FREE WRITING is a writing strategy developed by Peter Elbow in 1973, is similar to brainstorming but is
written in sentence and paragraph form without stopping.

◦ FREE WRITING increases the flow of ideas and reduces the chance that you’ll accidentally censor a good idea.

◦ FREE WRITING helps to increase fluency second-language learners—i.e., the ability to produce written
language easily (as opposed to accuracy, which is of course important but which is better addressed later in the
process).

◦ Just enjoy writing whatever you have in mind!

Free Writing – Guided Questions
◦ a. What are the advantages and disadvantages of
young people especially Generation Z using social
media?

◦ b. Do you think the advantages outweigh the

disadvantages?
IT’S WRITING CLINIC TIME!

◦ ENJOY WRITING!
◦ Please write your perspectives toward “Gen Z’s use
of social media has evolved”
◦ Students may share and discuss their Free Writing
