Welding Safety
 Always wear proper clothes when welding
 Place ground lead on material before turning
machine on.
 Check cables for cuts in the insulation.
 Never stand in water when welding.
 Never use gloves to pick up hot material.
 Never weld near flammable objects.
Oxy- Acetylene Safety
 Make sure regulators are tight.
 Never use oily rags around cylinders and
regulators.
 Check hoses for leaks before lighting the
torch.
 Make sure regulators are at proper settings.

 Make sure mixing knob is off before
lighting torch.
 Light acetylene first then mix oxygen.
 Do not pick up material with gloves after
it is cut.
 Cut off cylinders when through cutting.
