Serval (Friend)
Story Line:
The passage is about a mother's love for her son. When her son, who was
thirty-three years old at the time, was declared the son SAUVAGE, he
enlisted, leaving his mother alone in the house. Finally, my friend Serval
added. In retaliation, the Germans destroyed the chateau of the district
that belonged to me. I remembered the mother of those four fine
followers who were burned in that house, as well as the horrifying
heroism of the other mother who was shot against the wall.
Conclusion:
The ending of the story is very intriguing because I can see how different
MOTHER SAUVAGE’S viewpoint is from Serval's. By picking up the
blackened stone, the narrator is evoking MOTHER SAUVAGE in a variety of
ways. Serval, on the other hand, does not require a reminder of MOTHER
SAUVAGE’S behaviour because her actions are still fresh in his mind. The
narrator, on the other hand, feels very sorry for MOTHER SAUVAGE and the
four soldiers, but Serval is still enraged by MOTHER SAUVAGE’S behaviour.
Although Narrator's and Serval's claims can be considered true and justified,
just as both sides in the Franco-Prussian war felt justified in their
decisions. Finally, it is important to note that innocent people were killed
on both sides of the conflict.
