• Indian ethos for management means

application of principles of management
revealed in our ancient wisdom described
in Upnishad and Gita.
1 Each soul is potential god
• A human being has a soul, a spark of the
devine.The devine means perfection in
knowledge, wisdom and power. The
partnership of God and man can bring
about extraordinary results. Devine grace
works only when your self help and efforts
are maximum. This is a unique resource in
man. God provides inspiration, he guides.
Hence in Indian Ethos human being is
more important the machine.
2 Holistic Approach
• This is based on spiritual principles of
unity. Under this the universe is an
undivided whole where every particle is
connected with other particle.
Management must recognise oneness of
humanity. Your inner being is the delegate
of the divine, so see your own self in all
selves. This will achieve perfection and
excellence in in whatever sector you work.
This is an idea of indian ethos
3 Equal importance to subjective
• Human and ethical values such as
courage, vision, truth are subjective and
intangible concepts. These represent
divine wealth. Value based management
is essential to combine these with external
resources. This will assume TQM.
Manager must develop this third eye of
vision, insight, intuition and other such
divine qualities. This is an essence of
Indian Ethos for management.
4 Karma-Yoga
• Work is to be done as worship to the divine, so pour your
heart and soul in the performance of your duty. As you
have no control over the future do not waste your time in
useless dreams of future hopes. Do your best and live
actively your life every moment of the present with a firm
belief that future shall take care of itself. Karma yoga is
a golden means, it is the life of intense activity and
